We can watch Ichiro’s performance after a long time in Japan.

I read the biggest sports news.
The world link said

The Seattle Mariners’ All-Star right fielder will play for Japan in the inaugural World Baseball Classic next March, said a person within Major League Baseball who requested anonymity because an official announcement had not been made.

The most famous athlete in Japan today has accepted an invitation from the country’s most famous athlete of yesteryear. Sadaharu Oh, the Japanese League home run king, will coach the national team in the March tournament involving international players and major-league players competing for their home countries.

I think it’s great news for my friends and me. My favorite baseball player isn’t Ichiro but he is the most famous Japanese player in Major League. I want to compare his performance with other Japanese player’s. Maybe some people have no great opinion of his play in Japan because some friends of mine say Ichiro’s attitude toward Japanese reporters has got worse.

Really? it is a good news, isn’t it? I also want to watch Ichiro playing in the field again as a member of the national team in Japan.

Ack — your link now points to a login screen. That’s because some newspapers (mosts notoriously the New York Times) hide their older articles in archives that can only be accessed if you pay for a subscription.

If Ichiro isn’t your favourite player — who is? What is “Ichiro’s attitude toward Japanese reporters”? Does he refuse to talk to them?

My favorite baseball player is Imanaka who was a picher of Dragons. But he retired a few years ago. Ichiro didn’t refuse to talk to reporters but he looked tired or bored when they talked to him for my friends.

    Ah, the Dragons!

Do you go to Nagoya Dome to watch games?

I watched a game in Nagoya Dome when I was a child. I don’t remember the game clearly so I want to watch baseball games with my friends again. Now I’m not familiar with recent baseball games, I have to learn from TV or newspapers.
